Job description

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring that timely and accurate financial information is provided to the management team, explaining key variances and ensuring that the CFO gets accurate cash flow forecasts.  You will also be responsible for managing the finance function and departments in our European  region.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide input, prepare and analyse the region’s budgets, including providing management with accurate and timely financial information and month end reports. 
  • Perform cash management for the region by consolidating cash flow requirements, tight management of contract cash and overdue receivables and working with the CFO putting a cash management tool in place.
  • Provide management and oversight for all data entry, auditing expense statements and credit card accounts, approvals and required actions for A/R, A/P, G/L and cash management and the reconciling of G/L and bank accounts.
  • Maintain and develop accounting systems and procedures to ensure proper accounting and adequate internal controls.
  • Prepare and review revenues, expenses and payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents.
  • Prepare all statistical and financial reports for statutory bodies.
  • Ensure the correct and effective maintenance of tna’s financial accounting and general ledger system.
  • Liaise regularly with bankers, auditors, debtors and creditors.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Advise the Group Finance Manager about and assist with, procedures to comply with regulatory changes and local requirements.
  • Oversee the management of employee files, records and payroll ensuring accurate payment of salaries, benefits and allowances, including all statutory reporting.
  • Manage the activities of the Corporate Services / Finance team including communication, recruitment and selection, leave management, performance management, training and development, health and safety, etc. with support and guidance from People & Culture.

Desired Skills and Experience

Candidates will need to have the following:

  • Qualified Accountant or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years financial accounting experience within a large company and/or division highly desirable.
  • Proven ability performing or auditing accounting data and the preparation of related financial reports.
  • Experience in selecting, appointing and managing external firms / contractors to provide outsourced, supplemental professional services (e.g. Attorneys, CPA, Personnel, etc.).
  • Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting theories, principles, methods, costing procedures and practices.
  • Able to collect and organise accounting data, interpret its significance and prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Operate computerised accounting, spreadsheet and inventory software at a highly proficient level.
