Sydney, Australia, 23 November 2017 – tna, hall 10, stand #G070, ProSweets Cologne, Germany, 28 – 31 January, 2018

tna, together with confectionery specialist and newest member of the tna family of brands, NID, will highlight its complete range of turnkey solutions for the confectionery industry at next year’s ProSweets Cologne in Germany. Since the acquisition of NID, tna now offers a complete line of confectionery solutions, from high-speed moguls, starch conditioning systems to oiling and sugar coating solutions, plus the company’s own flexible conveying and high performance packaging technology. Besides on-stand demonstrations of some of tna’s most advanced technology, visitors will be able to find out how NID’s flagship starch mogul can help them achieve higher speeds, greater flexibilities and advanced production efficiencies – all while delivering some of the highest equipment reliability.

One of the most trusted and reliable starch moguls on the market, the NID M3000 is a fully integrated and automated solution, comprising feeder, starch buck, depositor and stacker. The system is ideal to process a multitude of single and multilayer starch-moulded products, including gums, jellies, marshmallows, fondant creams, liquorice and crusted liqueur, but also striped and centre-in-shell products. The latest version of the NID M3000 now comes with a range of new innovative features, including an automatic starch gate, a modular depositor frame and high speed turntable demoulding, offering manufacturers some of the highest levels of performance and product versatility.

“The global confectionery market is booming,” comments Mark Lozano, group sales manager – confectionery at tna. “Across the word, people are looking for small bags of treats to help them momentarily escape their busy lives. In particular sugar confectioneries have become immensely popular in key growth markets like China, for example, where they now account for 60% of total confectionery sales.[1]

“One of the main reasons behind this growth is the category’s high innovation potential. There are so many different ways to innovate in sugar confectionery. In particular with gummies as these chewy treats are incredibly flexible from a production standpoint. Whether manufacturers want to introduce another layer of flavour or a new texture to their gummies or sprinkle them in a little chili powder for some extra spice, with NID as part of tna’s family of brands, we can now deliver all the technology they need to take their sugar confectionery to the next level.”

Market insights from GlobalData[2]: The global confectionery sector, valued at US$156.4 billion in 2016, is dominated by Western Europe, which accounted for 29.6% share. Led by robust growth in the Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe regions, the sector is forecast to record a CAGR of 4.6% during 2016–2021. An improving global economy, supported by stronger than expected economic revival in developed countries, coupled with rising disposable incomes in developing countries remain the primary factor enabling consumers to indulge in more quality confectionery products.
