About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a People and Culture Manager to join the tna team. This position is a standalone position based in Dallas, Texas but could be based out of Dallas (Coppell) or Portland (Wilsonville) and will be reporting into the Chief People and Culture Officer located in the Head Office in Sydney, Australia.
This role will support the People & Culture function by providing operational and generalist human resource guidance, advice and support to ensure the company meets all legal and legislative requirements in our North American Branch Office and manufacturing site in Portland Oregon.

Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Providing a proactive HR service to all managers and employees on the full spectrum of human resource activities.
  • Providing assistance and support in the recruitment process, including drafting & advertising vacancies, liaising with agencies, preparing selection criteria summary, arranging assessments, conducting reference checks and constructing offers & employment contracts
  • Contribute to the review and development of policies and procedures based on relevant local legislation and contemporary HR management practices to support organisational needs
  • Coach key stakeholders and managers in HR processes e.g. Performance Management, Talent Development
  • Develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate staff induction and exit interview processes and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Advise and support managers throughout informal and formal procedures including disciplinary, grievance, capability, & the conduct of sickness absence review meetings ensuring adherence to Company policies
  • Complete HR metrics and provide regular reports to management (e.g. turnover, headcount, leave liability, exit interview statistics etc.)
  • Ensure procedures are being followed, monitor compliance issues and undertake general HR administrative tasks
  • Participate in HR projects as directed from Head Office.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum of 7 years HR generalist experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in development and management of human resources policies, procedures and supporting documentation;
  • Exposure to the manufacturing industry (specifically food and packaging) is advantageous
  • Solid knowledge of industrial relations including legislation, standards and award interpretation with focus on the US.
  • Ability to develop, build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with management, staff and external stakeholders
  • Identification with tna values including being a team player, passionate, professional, committed, honest and treat people with dignity and respect
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel regularly specifically within US.
